Surprise!

Sasasunakku has grown up and to this new location! I can only take partial responsibility for the site redesign: without my dear and patient friend M., I would have got nowhere and I am very grateful to him. I also owe thanks to Addison from whose original idea we derived the logo.

“Why a barcode?” You might well ask. To be honest I mainly like the aesthetics of it but I also feel it’s honest: as much as I’d love to be that person who shops only at farmers markets, I’m generally far too lazy to be up early enough on the weekend to go to them and while I do enjoy them and the politics of them and go as often as I can, especially when I’m travelling, the sad reality is almost everything I buy is barcoded for checkout lady convenience.

I beseech you, dear reader to change your bookmarks; I would be loath to lose any of you and if you have an email subscription I’ll have to ask that you renew that as well as I’m unable to do it manually – there’s a button in my sidebar with an envelope icon, it will only take a minute to click it and type in your email address.  Pretty please, do it now, I’ll wait.

For those who subscribe through an RSS feed it’s no problem because my feed is burned through Feedburner and should not be affected.

I’m afraid I come empty handed today; I have spent the last 5 days staring at the screen, stopping only to eat (a little) and sleep (barely). F. has come to the rescue, as always, making sure I do not tip over into the evil that is hangrrr.

Since to me, this is rather a momentous occasion – my own domain! the navigation bar that turns green when you click on a page! the indented and therefore easier to read ingredients! – I would also like to say thank you to you, my lovelies, who make coming to hang out here such a great part of my day and for sharing your own thoughts, feelings and comments with me, it’s hard to believe I have met so many great people in just 5 months, here’s to many more.
